Hello, and welcome to the COVID-19 foodscape. I’m now through my 4th week of being at and working from home. I’m actually enjoying teaching in our online format. I still get to see my students via video meetings, but the pace of things has somewhat relaxed, which is fortunate given that we have entered our lambing season where the farm is a bit more demanding than the rest of the year. It’s also much cuter than the rest of the year. But I digress.
My new schedule is currently allowing me more flexibility on Fridays, and therefore I am happy to announce that we are going to start a delivery route to Oshkosh, Appleton, and the Fox Cities (including Berlin and Winneconne) every Friday for the foreseeable future. If you live inside the shaded area on the map below we will deliver to you for free! We have been thrilled at the response from local folks the past few weeks who are excited to get good meat, and it resulted in us delivering that way every week as it was, so why not make it official?
As for Madison, we are still unsure as to what the farmers market season will look like. We know that the market was supposed to open this week, but has been delayed by at least one week with the possibility of more if the safer-at-home order is extended or other things change. So for now, I am going to offer home delivery on Saturdays at least until the market starts.
At this point none of us know exactly what our world will look like in a month or six, so this may not last forever, but for now let’s try it. We do ask that orders be placed by 5pm Thursday so we have time to put them together, that orders are a minimum of $30 so that we cover our travel and time costs, that you pay online with card or PayPal so we can minimize contact, and that if you won’t be home all day on delivery day that you leave a cooler out so we can drop it off safely when we stop by.
So with that, please tell your friends, and let’s get meat that’s good for our bodies, our environment, and our communities in the bellies of more people!
